Back acne is generally more severe than facial acne, often consisting of large cysts and nodules. However, just like acne anywhere else on the body, there are some ways of treating acne on the back, as well as preventing it in the first place. Of course it’s a classic case of how to get rid of acne and like all solutions it varies depending on the individual.
You need to ensure that you are not aggravating any existing condition. Heavy back packs, for example, can rub against the area and make it worse. Your clothing may also be upsetting things. Man-made fibres, such as polyester, or tight items worn on the back can rub harshly against your skin and also promote sweating. This blocks pores further and can lead to additional breakouts.
Another tip for treating back acne is to make sure you are exfoliating the area properly. As it is hard to reach, people often neglect this part of the body when washing so make sure you are cleansing and cleaning it properly. A gentle body wash and a textured sponge or cloth should do the trick. You don’t need to scrub hard; just enough to exfoliate the top layer of skin. If you’re having trouble reaching, don’t be afraid to buy a back scratcher.
Back acne is more common than you may think, sometimes it helps if you have a partner who gets delight in squeezing those spots on your back. It also helps if he/she are not shallow and don’t let “bacne” bother them, but then you can’t have it all!
